Regional Executive – Tipperary North/South and Clare

We are hiring a full time role for Tipperary North/South and Clare.

Job Purpose

The IFA is the largest representative body of Irish Farmers with over 72,000 members. The purpose of the Regional Executive is to play a leadership role in member engagement activity in designated regions and to be the point of contact for elected IFA leaders, IFA Members and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Associations elected members in the region
  • Co-ordinate and attend member engagement events in marts, discussion groups and IFA meetings and events
  • Deal with and help resolve member queries
  • Liaise with all sectors of agribusiness in the region
  • Income account management and development
  • Stakeholder management e.g. local press, Government bodies, Agribusinesses
  • Performing any additional responsibilities where required to advance member engagement
  • Role is varied and offers flexibility but will require working in the evenings and occasionally at weekends.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of the farming and agriculture sector
  • Experience of relationship, event management and member/customer engagement
  • Proven capacity to work on own initiative
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent planning, interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate the capacity to achieve in a demanding work environment.

Membership Development Agent – Munster Region

The Irish Farmers’ Association is the largest representative organisation for over 72,000 farm families in Ireland and is the recognised voice of Irish farmers in Europe and internationally.

IFA provides focused leadership to deliver improved income and living standards for all farm families. The Association promotes the ongoing development and competitiveness of Irish agriculture and the food industry, which makes an important contribution to Ireland’s economy.

We are now recruiting for a field-based membership development agent.

Principal Responsibilities;

  • The Membership Development Agent will be responsible for promoting and selling IFA Membership in the Munster Region
  • The agent will work alongside the Regional office, Membership teams and voluntary Officers to identify potential new members
  • The agent will be primarily road based and will work within a specific territory, on a planned basis throughout the IFA Branch Network
  • The role will require flexibility and may involve occasional attendance at evening meetings and other farmer events

The Person will ideally have; 

  • Previous field sales experience
  • An understanding of farming/rural issues
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to generate business through leads
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • A strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and negotiate sales
  • Driven to meet and surpass expectations
